I did a mover at a customer's house over the summer. Dish was on pause, cust set up mover with smart pack, install was done, cust had her account put on pause again. She had a 722 with Ota indoor antenna connected from which she got a handful of channels, as well as any of the free Dish channels. That's what she watched, and what she was able to record. Kept account on pause to run out contract.

Was she mad when she found out that time on Pause does not count towards contract commitment fulfillment, as described in the RSA?

For that matter, I thought that once an account was taken off Pause, you had to wait a certain amount of time before being eligible to put it on Pause again.

Well this is pretty encouraging- I can have OTA recordings and supplement with streaming Netflix etc. hopefully.

It would be great if more could confirm deactivated Hoppers work with OTA like a Channel Master for instance. I am still active with Dish for a while yet so I cannot.

I can record OTA on my deactivated H2 and I do get guide data for the same OTA channels that I got data for with a subscription.

Yes, that's how I get the guide data for the 2 of my OTA locals that I can record without doing manual timers.

Not unless they are obsolete. Otherwise, they can always be reactivated.
