Using splitter for 1 cable run to 2 receivers

yes, but

this is possible, I do it regulary at work where I am getting Dish Network on a
Muzak installed dish. The problem is you can only tune through one polarization.

Half of the channels will be on a horizontal polarization and half vertical. to change the polarization one of the tuner must be connected direct, then if the splitter is added back you are once again stuck on the fixed polarization. It works well for me because all I am using is the Sirius radio feed connected to my computer speakers. I do not need the other half of the channels.

Lets not confuse the noobie.

No you cannot split a signal to 2 separate receivers. You need one line from the LNB to the receiver or switch
