I am sure I have read it somewhere - when I set a USLS Lifetime ultra should the motor be on true south or my true south satellite?

Thanks

The motor should be pointed to your True South (180 +/- your mag. deviation) NOT your true south satellite BEFORE you select USALS option (because it will move immediately and you might lose your orientation !!).

I use my true south satellite to point a motorized system, your true south satellite (if you have one) is at true south (mag. south + or - mag. dev.) If you do not have a true south satellite the above will work, point as close as you can to true south, hit USALS the dish will move, then peak in the satellite that is closest to true south, by moving the dish/motor and all east or west until you get signal quality. If you do not get any quality (use a live TP.) raise or lower the DISH elevation a degree or two and repeat until you get signal quality on the meter.

Sat Name Sat Lng Az(t) Az(m) El Skew

I use IA-6/Telstar 6 93.0W 180.1 178.9 38.4 0.1

I know : ) But I was meaning if you have a true south satellite (like we have) use it!
