UVR TV AND DIRECT TV

If I get a Samsung Smart TV (UVR TV) And a GENIE HD DVR BOX, Can I mount the TV on the wall and have the GENIE else where (not plugged into the TV) OR DOES THE MAIN BOX have to be physically plugged into one TV? Thanks

Not all Samsungs work as a client, so make sure you get the right model. Hopefully one of the installers will chime in soon, but I think Directv requires the receiver/dvr/Genie to be connected to a television.

I believe that all 2012 & 2013 Samsung Smart TV's can be used as a client for the Genie,2014 should be also,but they haven't been released yet.
