Verizon warns that mid-band 5G will perform more like 4G

“While we can deploy and we will deploy a 5G nationwide offering,” Dunne explained, “the lower down the spectrum tiers you go, the more that will approximate to a good 4G service.”

Wasn’t this just posted somewhere else on the site?

Verizon continues to beat the 4G drum perhaps because they aren't prepared for 5G.

5g is for landline replacement...5g for cell phones will probably be called 6g...they want to reuse the 3g frequencies once they get everyone off of them

Well, right now T-Mobile and Dish are touting cell connections as soon to include “5G.” Although I suspect Dish is aiming more toward IoT.

But your general point has merit, IMHO.

T- mobile is running 10 gig pipes to all their cell sites...so I think they will have actual 5g cell service

It wouldn't have to be if Verizon weren't misleading buyers about what it is that they're currently offering.

They've been demonstrating their perversion here and there.
