Yep Juan is correct; as I read it the parent company of these two did this a while back; it is not a specific DirecTV thing.

My guess: Versus/Golf HD channel will be assigned to channel 604. Moving Versus to ch. 603, and keeping Golf at 605, is for organizational purpose.
