Video calibrator and THX instructor Michael Chen and calibrator Ray Coronado talk about Michael's series of instructional videos that explain the entire purpose and process of video calibration. They also discuss the difference between a tristimulus colorimeter and a spectroradiometer, calibrating for different ambient-light environments, calibrating from a test-pattern generator versus a Blu-ray player, how it's impossible to completely calibrate a display for broadcast television, answers to chat-room questions, and more.

I wish I could have them come out and do my projector and tv, it is hard to clear that cost with the big boss!

Gregg Loewen, friends with those two, is also another good one. I use him and have always been happy with the results.

Finally was able to finish the entire video, great stuff. One note, for light control and a calibration visit, I just buy the el cheapo yard bags, cut them up and use blue painters tape and cover my windows

Ray Jr. is also a friendly guy, I've spoken with him on the phone several times for things like calibration recommendation, meter recommendations and even HSU subs (he has 4 in his theater room).
