Bob Cooper has sent me a number of videos to share with out members, including the historic video of when Home Satellite Reception became legal here in the United States!

This one is interesting as Bob Cooper is features on the CBS Evening News with Walker Cronkite in 1978!

The TVRO Glory Days Continue!

And the final video for today (but more to come!)

Nice. Going to rip them from YouTube incase something happens. Video rocks.

Thanks for the videos Scott. For a few years now I drive home from work and look at a house with a dish farm and say, I have to stop some day and say Hi. Well thanks to Mike Kohl and also mentioned in the videos is my neighbour Robert M Coleman a satellite and cable TV pioneer.I plan I meeting him this weekend for a chit chat and see what that great mind has that I can learn!

Fascinating videos. It's great to see healthy Tom Snyder and Walter Cronkite again. We easily forget, or never knew, the hassles faced by those in past regarding TVRO. These videos show the technical advances made in this area that have benefitted home users of satellite technology. The partnership of commercial development with private hobbyists furthered the technology more rapidly than if there never had been private hobbyists involved.
