Just got my new extreme today. Hooked it up and did a blindscan. Guide comes up ok, but all the channels have the dollar signs and the only channels I get are some ppv preview channels. Help?

That's because you are looking at the wrong satellites. Check out G10R with a 90cm dish and KU band LNB, you'll get lots of the good stuff.
