Vikings' new stadium hit with millions in damage from snowfall

yup gotta love it

our tax money at its best......so of course the "we didnt want a stadium in the first place" people are just adding this to their arsenal. Them and the bird people

Here was a choice that the Vikings could have permanently gone with:

TCF Stadium https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TCF_Bank_Stadium

Important quote about the stadium
The 52,525-seat "horseshoe" style stadium cost $303.3 million to build and is designed to support future expansion to seat up to 80,000.

And the "roof" doesn't leak because there is no roof. but I guess, with the exception of Lambeau Field & Soldier Field, renovation of an existing stadium is just NOT in the NFL's vocabulary(& neither is "sharing" a stadium with someone else NOT an NFL team, like in the case of Metlife stadium). the "Bread & Circuses" NFL is just too rich & spoiled for its own good.

Never would have happened. And it has nothing to do with "sharing".....the Vikes had to stick a bunch of money in TCF to be able to even make it feasible including heating coils under the field. The Bank was built for Gopher Football which is done by Thanksgiving before it really gets cold out. So there was minimal heat in the concourses. When the Vikes had the one game there (after the humpty dome collapsed) that was the biggest issue was lack of heat in the concourses (it could handle mid 30's cold, not 0 cold). They had to upgrade that.

The Vikes were hell bent on their own stadium.

Are the tax payers footing the bill for the new stadium?

Are the tax payers footing the bill for the new stadium?
about 1/2 of it (as of initial costs)
348 million form the state
150 million from city of Minneapolis
the rest from the Vikes and private companies

most add on costs the Vikes are picking up the tab for
