VIP 722 Electricity Usage

My two day old VIP 722 is my first DVR and I was surprised that the thing is always "on" when plugged in. Close up I can hear the hard drive spinning for no apparent reason. It is also warm to the touch.

Does anyone know how much juice the VIP 722 uses in standby mode? The Dish HD CSR didn't. Thank you.
