vip 722 signal strenth

my mom got dishnetwork a couple of days ago and signal strenth on the vip722 is not good. getting 50 to 70 % out of 125. i took one of my old 311 boxes over to check it out and it gets like 90 to 115% out of 125. i was checking the strenth with the 119 satellite transponder 5 which is a spotbeam transponder with both receivers. is this normal with the 722 getting a low signal strenth?
checked serval other transponders and no better on the signal strenth. hopefully someone can help with the issue.

Yes. They read lower than the 301. Your readings are in the norm.

The 722 uses a different signal level algorithm than the 311s. 50 to 70 is comparable to 80-100 in the 311s.
