Greetings. First post on these forums.

I went camping this past weekend and took my VIP222K with my old 500 Dish with twin LNB's. I had no problem setting up getting channels but not all channels were present.

Funny thing was, If I used one of the cables as opposed to the other different channels would bet lost.

Is there something I am overlooking? Is there an upgrade to my camping dish I can make?

Edit: I don't take an HD TV when camping so HD's not an issue. I lose either the channels around 200 (CNN) on one line or around 120 (History Channel) on the other. Anyway to combine the two lines coming from the Dish?

Thanks for any help in advance,

James in Central California

A little more information would help. Is the LNB on the dish a dishpro or dishpro plus? If it's a dishpro LNB you need to run two cables to the receiver and remove the separator at the receiver. If it's a dishpro plus then one cable and the separator will work. In either case you need to run "Check Switch" to set up the receiver for the different dish.

Only one Twin will fit on a Dish 500. It sounds like you're maybe using separate LNBs, each run directly to the receiver. If these are legacy Dual LNBs, you need to run the outputs of each through a pair of SW21 switches. If you don't already have them, replace the Duals with a DPP Twin and use the Separator.

Whatever you end up doing, you need to run a Check Switch each time you move the receiver to a different LNB/switch configuration.
