Do receiver numbers reveal any specific information, such as version number, manufacturing date or series? Or are they assigned numerically as they are produced?

It's difficult to believe, with all the experts on this forum, that no one has responded to this question.

I believe the letter at the end of the serial number represents the hardware version.

The letters and number do correspond to where they were manufactured or re-manufactured & hardware version etc, but I couldn't tell you what means what.

most of the beginning letters are the same for the same model family, but there are differences depending on the manufacturing location....india, china, mexico...
the last 4 seem to be a unique identifier.
