VOOM to miss Feb Deadline?

People on AVS are reporting VOOM will miss the end of Feb deadline in deliveringprogramming and is now extending the money back guarentee and the free programming. Here is a quote from AVS

"Just got off the phone with a Voom CSR and I was told they have now extended the free programming until March 31 and the money back guarantee until April.
Check their website in "packages" as it confirms this information."

"I just got off the phone with Voom too. It looks like they are not going to meet their end of Feb dead line for new programming that is why they are extending the free programming offer. They are not getting off to a very good start it looks like."

Well you are getting your monies worth so far. No one has had to pay for programming yet. So I guess consider that a blessing for now. :)

I just called and was told the free programming for EXISTING subscribers had changed to 3/31/04 but the money back guarantee date was still 3/31/04. The web site has not changed the 2/29/04 new programming date and my account still say 2/29/04 as my free programming deadline. VOOM needs to publish an official statement.

Do they plan on offering any new channels in HD soon or do they plan on having them all up on the 31st? It's only the 6th and they can't even make the end of this month deadline :(

Well my account still says free programming & plus packs through 29 Feb.

Just spoke to VOOM. I was able to confirm free programming until 3/31/04 and money back guaranteed until 4/30/04.

mine still says
Limited Time Offer-FREE until February 29, 2004!

but i guess it will be updated, although a new HD channel or two would be nice

In Writing - Voom Extension !

I just received this email from VOOM ! I'm cool with it. It's ard to complain too much for something thats free. I now can evaluate until almost April. If it still lacks, money back and go to Dish!

It read ......

Thank you for subscribing to VOOM.
The free programming offer has been extended to March 31st, 2004 and our
money back guarantee has also been extended until April 30th, 2004. This
information has just been released and we have yet to update the online

Thanks Geno for providing this information. Hey! this is good news more free programming. I rather see the new HD channels but I can live with this until they are added.

Another email I just got. This Don Mackey guy is busy tonight...

Thank you for subscribing to VOOM.
We are currently finishing up contract negotiations with several networks.
Once those are complete we will begin offering those channels to
subscribers like yourself. However at this time, no exact launch date has
been made available for any certain channel or type of programming. As
you may, or may not be aware, we just extended the free programming
through March 31, 2004 and the money back guarantee through April 30,
2004. If you have any further questions please give us a call at

I certainly expected more HD programming by now. What is the hold-up? You
need to get more channels up! ESPN HD, INHD1&2, HBO, Cinimax HD, BRAVO HD,
NBA HD. I spend too much time defending my VOOM purchase. Bring on the HD!

The deal though is we need some good faith indicators of programming rolling out. Dec was an interesting month. We need to build morale and Max HD would go a long way for me to see progress.

It's not looking a gift horse in the mouth, I just want to see incremental progress. Have to admit I'm watching Terminator (1) on Voom, and it's pretty cool.

I am excited for you all and hopefully, this lessens the blow of the lower priced STB offering.

I just can't imagine what is taking so long with HBO. Do they (HBO) hardball the carriers like ESPN? I travel a lot and it sure seems like HBO is in every hotel room.

This is just a possibility, but maybe because Voom is giving us the programming free for a few months, they are trying to get the channels to give them the content free for a few months, and HBO is refusing? Just a thought
