[VOOM] VOOM TV AD.....False?!?!?

I've seen this ad on fox, ESPN, CBS, NBC and ABC and found something
kinda weird and funny at the same time. The VOOM ad says VOOM has 39
HD channels. I counted them and they only have 36 HD channels. So why
would the ad say 39?

Maybe they are counting OTA networks ABC, CBS, and NBC since they offer HD in most markets at some point in the day.

No, I don't think they were talking about OTA. The locals are not in
HD, just some of their shows. The ad with the dirtbikes is the ad
that said VOOM has 39 HD channels.

If you go to their site, and check the channel list, you can count up 37 HD channels. I live
in Fl, and during baseball season, I got Fox Sports Net Florida HD (thus 38). If you click
around on the site, they (like the other satt providers) also list local (HD) channel
availability (with an asterick of course). They show 6 channels (no UPN).

So, if you measure literally and without locals, Brian appears to be right. If you lump in
locals, they meet and/or beat 39 for viewers able to receive at least 2 local HD channels
over the air (one if you live in Florida).

The website bills the lineup as "over 35 HD channels". Perhaps the tv ad copywriters were
still leaning on the original information. Or maybe 1-2 new HD channels will be added
soon (hopefully).
