The WB is part of the local channels antenna, not via the satellite so as
long as you can pick up the WB via antenna, you're good to go. To verify
this, go to http://www.antennaweb.org and put in your address and zipcode
and it'll show you all the local channels for your area.

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been talked about, I can't find any info on
this :(

How do I find out if Voom carries WB or not? I want to switch to
Voom, but not sure if they have WB or not, don't see it anywhere right
now.

Thanks

[VOOM] Re: WB (Warner Brothers)

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply. I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge
about HD.

So this means that Voom didn't sign a contract with WB and that's why
I have to get the signal myself via antenna, right? What if I don't
have antenna setup at home and I still want WB. Is Voom the wrong
choice for me then? I currenly have Comcast Digial with the HD
option. But Comcast doesn't have that much HD and I want more HD
channels.

Thanks.

RE: [VOOM] Re: WB (Warner Brothers)

Also with the zero dollar out of pocket special right now, VOOM is the best
buy around. The general consensus is the only drawbacks to VOOM are they
don't currently have a DVR, though it's coming soon, and don't have HGTV,USA
and SCI-FI channels yet. Other than that, VOOM is just the best and I HIGHLY
recommend you get it!!

The WB is a broadcast network. VOOM does not carry broadcast stations, but if you have a WB affiliate in your area transmitting in digital you may be able to receive it through the VOOM receiver and OTA Antenna.

RE: [VOOM] Re: WB (Warner Brothers)

VOOM does not supply any locals channels via their satellite. However, when
you signup for VOOM, they come out and install the VOOM satellite dish _AND_
an OTA (over the air) antenna and the tech combines both cables into one and
that cable goes to your VOOM receiver so you get the satellite channels and
the local over the air channels.

If you do not choose VOOM, you can still buy an over the air antenna but the
$costly$ part is getting that signal converted into HD. That requires a
converter. Either you pay for a converter out of your pocket (mucho dollars)
or you go with VOOM and get all of it for a monthly fee competitive of all
other cable/satellite providers.

VOOM is the only provider that you can get 30+ HD satellite channels and
your local channels broadcasting HD.

I get NBC,PBSX2,CBS,ABC,FOX,UPN and WB all in HD when the air something in
HD. Not all programs are broadcast in HD but the stations are broadcasting
in HD so when there is a program in HD, you get it.
Examples..
NBC(Crossing Jordan, West Wing, Law & Order, Tonight show)
PBS(many, many shows)
CBS(CSI,Without a trace,CSI Miami)
ABC(Alias,Extreme Makeover,NYPD)
FO:mad:24)
UPN(Star Trek enterprise)
WB(who cares? <g>)

HTH,

Robert

Thomas, there are no contracts to sign. WB is a broadcast television network. Which means you receive it from your local affiliate. Some cable companies carry a version of WB in areas that don't have an affiliate, but there is no national WB cable channel that can be carried by VOOM. This is the same for all broadcast networks.

If you tell us what city you are in we can tell you if there is a local WB station in your area.

[VOOM] Re: WB (Warner Brothers)

I think they are on TNT-HD, and not Bravo-HD.

In Greenville, NC, there is no affiliate. The only way to pick up a "local" WB signal is to get the one that the cable company rebrands as WGWB. This is not an OTA signal, as none exists locally.

Apparently D* has three superstations that they retransmit for WB (similar situation with UPN). Why couldn't something like that be done here? There are many more areas with no WB OTA signal.
