Waiver Question

Can someone give me a brief description of the channel waiver process?

I called DTv to get a waiver for CBS HD. They said it could take up to 45 days. Others in my area already have the channel. Will I get something in the mail or will the channel just appear one day?

Why do I need to get a waiver when others in my area have already gotten a waiver from the local station?

Its not DTV's fault, its just legal stuff CBS puts them through to allow them to offer it to you.

What area are you in, Pauly?
(And if others in your area have gotten a waiver, find out how they got them. Then write a respectful letter to the affiliate and ask for your own waiver. Once D* has it in hand, it can turn on your CBS HD immediately.)
If you get the waiver yourself, chances are you can cut the wait time tremendously. I believe you can even fax it to D*.
