I am wanting to switch to directv but I would perfer to buy my equipment out right 1.how much is it ?.. "the equipment"

Would I be in a contract ? Also I want the preferred Choice pack for 32.99 a month can I do that ? Then one more thing I would like to keep dish network also for the welcome pack for another TV so I want to keep my dish located on the dish network bird do u think directv could install another satellite for their service ? what about them installing the equipment would it be free to do that or would I have to pay?

You would have DirecTV install a dish for their service. No reason to have the DishNet dish removed.

With a properly aligned dish, I see now reason you would have more rain fade then with dish. Possibly less. :)

As for commitments, you'll need to call DirecTV.

Most equipment is leased. If you find equipment to buy outright, it'll be expensive.

You need to be more specific on "equipment" a D12 is much cheaper than an HR21PRO and a 18" dish is cheaper than a 5LNBSWM.

Should i get a slimline SL-5 or AU9-SL3

Can I still burn DVD's from HR-20 DVR?
