Find an article that says Roku is getting an update to allow you to watch dish...
Roku's new update will rock you | PC Perspective
....More interesting is the software update, Roku OS 8 now lets you search over the air TV in its menu if you have an antenna configured and if you have an account with providers such as Dish, Cox or AT&T you will be able to access them on your Roku. You should expect to see the update become available for existing Roku devices as well as these new models later this month.

Would this negate the need to have additional receivers and paying the extra fees for them?

That article has it wrong and it omitted some information from the original story-

  • TV Everywhere Single Sign-On: TVE single sign-on, available for pay TV customers, eliminates the need to log in to TVE channels, such as Watch ESPN or FOX NOW, repeatedly. Customers who subscribe to Dish, Cox, AT&T and hundreds of other providers will enjoy the convenience of single sign-on when using 30 TVE channels. More providers are expected to be added to the feature over time.

The sentence as written is confusing. It makes it sound like you need an account with providers such as Dish, Cox or AT&T to authenticate watching over the air TV channels on the Roku.

When I read the first post I was getting excited that I could watch OTA with the Roku, but after checking it out, it looks like you need a Roku TV, or have to buy a third party box, like Tablo TV. Otherwise, its the same old "log in with your provider and use a different app for every channel' that we had before the new OS.

Here is a link that explains the new Roku features:
