We have a dish network dual tuner reciever hooked up in our living room. We have a Samsung HD flat screen that is hooked up to it. We had a standard definion TV hooked up in the bedroom. We just got a Sony Wega HDTV, it is used and the previous owners said they bought it about 4 or 5 years ago. Our problem is we can't figure out how to watch satellite on the Sony. We hooked up the coax cable to the tv and turned it to channel 60, like we did with the old tv, but it shows nothing, doesn't seem like the tv is recognizing it...does anyone have any answers for us? Thanks for your help

It is likely that the Sony is set to tune CATV channels and you need to change it to tune "air" (OTA) channels.

Alternatively, you could set the DISH receiver to modulate CATV channels and match the TV up with it.

Try cable channel 116 on your tv. It is the same frequency as ch 60 off air.

On most recs, press menu 6 1 5 to access the tv2 modulator setup if you want to change it

As was posted above by harshness, "It is likely that the Sony is set to tune CATV channels and you need to change it to tune "air" (OTA) channels.
