There is no settings for that, nor is it an add in. So I am not sure why you are not seeing them.

I have a feeling its related to the search engine. I have turned off Elasticsearch and am defaulting back to Xenforo's internal search and am currently reindexing things. The enhanced search for ElasticSearch has not been updated for 2.3 yet.

That might be it. I just tried a general search before, and that finds nothing.

You are the only one seeing your DM's.

I guess thats a new feature of 2.3. You couldn't search them before (that I know of)

This reindexing the search engine is slowing down the site. (grr) but its halfway done.

Yes you will see your DM's. But they are not being shown to the public.


DM's are a little different then the way they were done before. I am looking at some add ons which are for 2.3 to handle the DM's better. And will get rid of the old conversations ads ons which dont seem to work (as well) in 2.3.

I tried a few earlier & it either found nothing or only had results that were from late '09 and older.

Ok search index is rebuilt. Speeds should be returning to normal shortly.

There is a new option in the Tools Page which is Rebuild User Data. I am running that now. Figure it can't hurt.

I noticed the software refers to conversations as "direct messages" now. I kinda liked "conversations" better, but I guess "direct messages" is more standard

They started out being called PMs(private message). The name of things change with the times and pop culture. Still the same thing.

Postings seem to take a long time to get posted.

Seems to be a lot better today.

We did get messages in our error log yesterday. about submitting posts to Microsoft Bing and have a feeling that is what was causing the slowdown with new posts. When there is a new post or reply it is sent to Bing for indexing using a service they offer called Index Now.

I have not seen any more errors since yesterday at about 4 pm, so I am guessing their service was having issues.

It's taking an average of 15 seconds for a thread or reply to post, is that due to the Bing search indexing?
