Well, At Least Lloyd Carr Gets It Over With Right Away!!!

I thought it was your sister who picked Penn State? Me? I'm picking MSU.

She always pick Penn State, but after yesterdays win over ND and Michigan's 0-2 start:p, I think they have a real good chance.

Hell, I can't believe I'm thinking this, if Penn State goes undefeated, Penn State will play LSU for the National Championship.

USC may have something to say about that. Truth be told, Wisconsin may be the cream of the BIG TEN crop. Ohio State can never be counted out either. Who knows, maybe Michigan can still rebound, but that doesn't seem likely. If they had played Oregon tough and lost it would be a different story, but to get blown out so completely.....

USC has a real hard road schedule.

At Nebraska, at Washington, at Oregon, At ND:p, At Cal and at Arizona state.

They should lose one of those games, I'm thinking Cal. Ohio State wont do it again this year, and Wisconsin is a good team but they play at Penn State.

Penn State's only "hard":p, road game will be Michigan IMO.

I know it's a long shot, but hey stranger things have happened.

This will be an interesting season, too bad we don't have a playoff system to sort it all out. LSU also plays a tough season. Just getting through the SEC will be tough. I believe that to be the toughest conference in the land.

But they have a few potentially hard home games.
Wisconsin, possibly Ohio State and Iowa

Wisconsin barely pulled off a victory at UNLV last night. I would hardly say Wisconsin is a "tough" team yet. They still need to prove more than they have.

That is your opinion. I am a logical person, and I believe that the system is fine the way it is.

I guess you never want your team to win a national championship, with the system in place they will never be ranked high enough in the pre-season polls to have a chance to win. But I guess that's a logical way to determine champions.

You right!!! I don't ever want my team to win a national championship! Does that make me wierd.

You nincome poop. Of course I want MSU to win a national Championship. If you like a playoff system, you can watch the NFL.

Any team can have a chance to win a national championship. Boise State is a testament to that!

What are you smoking???. Boise State alone is a reason for the playoffs, they went undefeated and never had a chance at the nation championship, use some of that logic you say you have. If there was a playoff, Boise State would have a chance to win the national championship.

IMO if a team doesn't win their home games, they don't deserve to go to a bowl. So good teams wins home games, great teams win all their games.

I agree, a playoff is EXACTLY what Boise State wanted, as well as Utah back when Urban Meyer was there.

All right. The name calling and innuendo's of un-intelligence stops with me. I hope you will follow suite and have just a simple enlightening debate of a great topic.

Boise State was ranked gong into the season. I was just pointing how that is contradictory to your earlier statement of no team has a chance of winning a national championship unless you are ranked.

Well, the Miami Hurricanes were UNRANKED at the beginning of the 1983 season when they won the National Championship.

Boise State is ranked because of all the returning players they had from last year returning, on top of the fact that they are a good football team. But if it were not for last season, Boise State would be NO WHERE in the radar as far ranking AND a national championship chance. THAT is a fact....:up

lol:D Ok Ok Ok how's this..........Michigan really sucked Saturday, do you think they will lose their next game against Oregon. Hell when ND and Michigan play each other they both could be 0-2. they could go 0-4 before they play Northwestern. And the first four games are at home, their first win could be on the road.

How's that?:D

This could be an interesting game. Two freshman QB's, no offense, and not a lick of defense in sight. Whatever network that's carrying this game must be cringing at the lost ratings this game will bring. Or maybe I'm wrong, see as both teams are 0-2, maybe more people will tune in to see this train wreck of a game. Clash of the Titans - NOT!!!

Maybe more will tune in to see which team stays winless.;) Do you think fans of either ND or UM will string the losing coach up from the goalposts? You're really taking this pretty good as a Michigan fan. If this happpened in Columbus, they'd have him tarred and feathered by now.

Wisconsin may have been a little shakey Saturday night but they got out with a win. They didn't want to blow out UNLV because the last time they were there they had a big lead and the lights went out. Conspiracy theorists speculated that because Badger fans bet heavily on their team that the casinos would lose big time. Mostly conspiracy theorists who couldn't collect on their bet. The lights went out just before it was considered a complete game by casino rules. The teams agreed to call the game.

WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL

The Badgers, who were anywhere from a 3- to a 7-point favorite leading up to the game, were ahead 27-7 when the lights went out at Sam Boyd Stadium with 7 minutes, 41 seconds to play. That was just 2:41 before the game would have been considered official by Nevada sports books, which require 55 minutes of college and pro football games to be completed.

The speculation around Michigan for the last 2 seasons has been that Carr would probabily retire after this season. A 6-6 or 7-5 season would probabily make that a reality. Tar and Feather? We're not that pissed, just disappointed. Still haven't given up on this team though, we've had similar starts before, most notably 1998, the season right after we were national champs. Michigan ran the table the rest of the season. That was then, this is now, and I can't see that happening this season, not with Henne out indefinetly. In '98 we had a QB you may have heard of -Tom Brady. Interesting footnote to this week's game - ND's QB and our's were rated #1 and #2 coming out of high school by Rivals.com (for whatever that's worth).

GO BLUE!
