Hello,

I would like to upgrade my system. Currently I have 1 501 and 1 508 and dish500. I would like to go to a 622 and the 508, and retire the 501. I am in massachusetts. I want hd. What dish and switches would I need to make the simple install. I want to do the install myself.

Doing the install yourself will set you back about $700-800. You need the 622 ($500) and a third single LNB dish pointed at 61.5 ($100). You'll need an appropriate switch (DP33 I believe) to combine the three satellite signals and disperse them to your three tuners ($100-200 - I am probably high on this one).

You could also contact a local DishNetwork retailer, and they would do the install (probably around $200 more).

If, on the other hand you commit to 18 months of HD programming with Dish, you get the 622 on lease, and everything needed for $199 installed, with 10 $10 monthly programming credits, a net of $100.

I'm not trying to sell you on the lease, but there has been a lot of discussion here about the relative merits of lease vs buy, and I concluded for me that lease was best.

thanks for the response. I look into the lease option. I am a little leary of a installer, read some bad stories.
