How is it you can tell a new one to a refurbished one, I forgot? Something to do with the way it is wrapped, right?

The way the chord is coiled up. the lack of a plastic cover over the plug and the tape job on the anti-static bags are give-aways

For the ones we get new ones are in anti static bags and refurbs are shrink wrapped. Also, like HipKat said, the plugs on new ones have a green plastic/rubber cover on them.

With the older receivers, the refurb serial numbers would start with W, new ones R. You can clearly see the new label placed over the original on the refurbs too.

Comcast already does, you no longer need a box, so no box fees, but you do have Broadcast Fees, local sports fees, DVR fees, franchise fees, local tax fees and whatever we want to charge you fees.

These fees is what keeps me away from all live pay TV, if they want to charge me extra for certain channels that they include in the package advertisement, they should give me the option of not having them to avoid the fees.

If you are buying it, they need to disclose new or reman. For a lease, it doesn't matter.
