You know, every year, mags, papers, the net and people talk about what was the big sports story of the year....but no one ever talks about what MIGHT have been a big story, but turned out to be nothing. They were talking about this on sports radio yesterday and I hit me....

Where are all the protests and protesters? Where are all the banning of anything Philadelphia Eagles or anything that sponsors them?

Nothing...nada..zilch...zero. Hell, for a stretch, you had to wonder if the guy was still on the Eagles roster!

So do you guys have a story that was supposed to be big, but turned out to be a big fat nothing?

Well, that is not the topic of conversation.....NO ONE expected very much from him and that is exactly what happened. He did not come to the Eagles to "carry the team"...or to be it's last needed peg to get to the Super Bowl.

well...that one kinda sorta. He was a brawler that NO ONE wanted to go toe-to-toe with him. But the moment he got into the octagon that had wrestler experience....you know it was only a matter of time.

I agree that the response was over-blown, but I also agree with Jimbo to some extent, Vick's lack of on-field presence is a factor too...hence, it IS relevant to this thread.

It seems like Vick has disappeared again. Much less protest over an invisible man...

Bingo!! The WHOLE issue was about Vick getting in the NFL....guess what, regardless of his play...he got in and all the huff and puff from PEATA did NOTHING.

...as there been a drop in attendance due to Vick? Nope....
