What is the furthest south anyone has received the new 91?

Although footprint maps from Telesat, the company that made the satellite, have been posted, that does not actually mean that they are 100% correct. If you look at the Telesat map, 82 should not go as far as North Carolina, but it does, and can be received with a 30" dish.

I was wondering how far people have actually received 91 and with which size dish? I know that this was discussed some in the other thread, but this will help figure out what the true footprint is, like the one that was posted a couple of years ago when members created one for 82.

I remember when 82 changed, it could not be received at my location at all with the 18" dish, some transponders came in with a 24" dish, which I had already installed before the swap, and then they all came in with the 30." Had I not had a 75E Star Choice dish in the basement from where I had Star Choice for about 6 weeks because the standard def picture was inferior and the DSR 530 kept missing recordings, I would have never tried a larger dish. I would have just gone back to the company with higher prices and inferior equipment.
So, there has to be some in the same situation with 91.

Hopefully, we will be able to point out where buying a meter dish will help and where it will not.

Indianapolis, IN using a 90 cm elipital dish for both 91 & 82 and getting great signals on both. I have lost zero programing during the switch over, even the HD channels on 91 come in fine.

Try clearing the matrix, which is simply running check switch with no signal. Make sure that there are no switches installed, and then try 82 on transponder 32.

If you are just using the meter on the screen, it sometimes will not read a new sat unless the previous one has been cleared. ou should be able to get 82.

the receiver reads transponders, not satellites.
It doesnt care if 91W is NImiq1, Nimiq2, Nimiq6 or a satellite called "free porn". It reads the specific transponders (12224 V 20000 as TP1 as example). If there is no signal there clearing out the matrix will do no good. Clearing the matrix out only works if you are switching LNB types or if (with Dish) you go from Western Arc to Eastern Arc or vise versa

I can only say that I have seen it happen several times when trying to receive a new sat with the newer Echo receivers. May have been coincidence.

I'm in Boise,ID and unable to get anything on a 30" dish (82 or 91). Tried last night for a couple hours!!
I am in Boise Idaho also and have a 30" dish pointed at 82 and have a 50 to 60 signal strenght on most TP. Also have a Superdish (not sure the exact size ~24") pointed at 91 and now get 40 to 50 signal strength on most TP. TP 11 is 0 however. the good news is i still have most channels.

This was posted in the other thread..Lancaster, PA - No signal from 91 on a 1-meter dish. 82 comes in strong, so I guess I'll just have to go HD. <darn> so it appears that the 91 footprint is much tighter
than 82. This now makes me wonder, since the "virgin" Dish software actually has 91 listed that we might see something like HD locals on 91 from Dish for southern states. Just a thought; I don't know that Nimiq 6 could even do that..although it would not surprise me it it could, since spot-beaming is possible.

I'm in downtown Indianapolis this morning. Using a 22.5 X 32 inch DirecTV Slimline type dish with Hughes Net internet & a "Bird on a Wire" kit with legacy LNB's for 82 & 91 degrees West. Was surprised this morning to find I get 57-59% signal on TR's: 01, 03, 05, 07, 09, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25. Nothing on the other transponders or on 82 Deg. W. I wonder if those go further South or has Bell turned those transponders back on on the Nimiq 1 and/or Nimiq 2 satellite/s?

Guide with 82 only

I just got back from up north. I have NO signal on any transponder on 91 on the VA?NC border. My 9242 does still work with 82 only, but with the 3 day guide. I did have to rerun check switch so the receiver would delete the channels from 91 from the guide.
