Sitting here watching the "World Baseball Classic". Sixteen teams. Fifteen consisting of players born (or whose parents were born) in the country being represented (the Dutch West Indies are still legally and politically a part of the Netherlands). And Italy, with 22 players being people whose families have lived in the United States for upwards of 10 generations. Most of whom speak no Italian and have first names like Cody, Phillip, Chris, Jason, Kasey, and Adam.
Huh? Under that logic, why would not the UK, Germany, Poland, and, for that matter, Gambia, have teams? My money would be on Ireland.
