I used to have favorites I wore out. These days I have a few hundred DVD/BluRays. I find that about half are ones I watch periodically. It's more of a matter of browsing and saying what haven't I watched recently?

The other half fall into the categories "It seemed like a good idea at the time" and "HD-DVD for a buck - let's take a chance"

Titanic ... I have the SE Dvd, ripped it to a EHD, watching the extras now on my popcorn hour... (have an HD Version archived from TNT but this is watchable and has dts sound)
