I am on the Eastern arc with no line of sight to western arc. What will I do when the satellites reposition?

Have only heard rumors so far. Have you heard something concrete from Dish? It would be a significant undertaking for them to attempt to move everyone to Western Arc and result in a significant loss of customers.

I'd guess they are just rumors.

Guess I haven't heard anything about this. Can someone enlighten me about this situation?

Unless something changed in the past few weeks, this is just a rumor.

No, we are actively doing arc swaps to WA daily. When customers call for any reason, it gets attached to the work order with a mandatory workflow that notes the arc on arrival, on departure, and if the swap wasn't made, why it wasn't.

Jon,
IF your in Nashville, shouldn't you have access to Both Eastern and Western Arcs ?
The WA clear view could be a problem anywhere. I installed an EA dish years ago on a fellow's apartment balcony. No chance of re-aiming there.

Rotate the building.
Changing apartments might be just a bit easier. Actually, I don't know if he's even still living there. The point of course, is that a clear WA view could be a problem almost anywhere. I've installed WA dishes in the east, and EA dishes in the west to get around sat view issues.

It technically covers the whole USA, but having satellites low in the west servicing users on the east coast is kind of stupid. Long ago, my hometown cable company ended up dropping MTV because the dish picking it up was pointed too close to an AT&T microwave site.

Yes, the lower WA angle can be a problem in the east. Except that sometimes that's the only clear view.

I'm waiting to see how people in northern Maine, for example are going to go to WA
The biggest problem in northern Maine was the 129 sat, which of course is no more. For 110 and 119, it's more the usual clear view issues, trees, buildings, etc.
