I saw it too. Shame it's gone now, not many people will know what we're talking about unless we are able to identify it later in this thread.

It'd be REAL NICE (Mr. Scott G., I'm talking to you) if we had forum email notifications, like the old days, so TIME CRITICAL posts like these can reach the people reading email and they could tune in while the transient event exists. But that is a discussion for a different thread.

Anyway, I Googled around, found nothing of significance. Assuming it was live, it appeared to be on the west coast based on visible daylight. There was an airport in the background, but I couldn't connect that to any ongoing event.

Isn't that the entrance to LAX? CBS Newspath often has a livecam on the same entrance, although the angle is different and shows the large "LAX" illuminated letters.

That's nearly always one of the backgrounds they use on the 11 pm news/weather.
The colors change constantly, like dancing fountains, and it's very impressive flying in at night.
Yes, it's really that big!

The reason it was running in purple & gold, was 'cause the owner of the Lakers, Dr Jerry Buss, just died and they had a big memorial service for him!
