When will PTAT start on New Install?

I understand I need to give the newly installed Hopper about 24-48 hrs to begin working properly, but when will it attempt to begin PTAT recordings.

I set it to record all networks every day (just to get a sense of it).

I understand PTAT isn't available until 0100 the following morning.

Will I see a red recording light on the box when PTAT is recording just like any other recording?

When can I expect it to actually start recording prime time shows after a new install?

In most cases, PTAT will work after the second day. They are available immediately not after 1 am as it is a recording you will see the record light, the auto skip is what is not usually available until that time. PTAT is not automatic, you need to engage the feature for it to start.
