IF you want HD channels and or hd locals you will need either a 1000.2 sat dish for 110/119/129 or 1000.4 sat dish for 77/72.7/61.5 sats. IF all you want is SD channels with no hd then a dish 500 will do.

Are the HD channels on 100/119/129 duplicated on 77/72.7/61.5? The reason I ask is they just put up a 1000.4 and now my 510 is incompatible. If I had a 1000.2, could I still use my 510 along with my 612 and 211k?

Does it make difference where my location is? Burnet Tx 78611 thanks in advance as i am not new to satelite equipment but a newbie here. Thanks for yalls help. I will need to of those dishes if available. And i want hd.

You have an Eastern Arc dish that only serves MPEG4 receivers, so for that dish the 510 is a doorstop.

If your locals are on 61.5, 110 or 119 you could have a D500 pointed at 110 and 119 and use a wing dish for 61.5.

If your locals are on Western arc, they should have installed a D1000.2

If you locals are on 72.7 or 77 you must have all MPEG4 receivers.

My locals must be on 72.7/77 and 110/119 because I had a Dish 500 before the upgrade.

According to the eastern arc look up page , you are a western arc sub which means you need a 1000.2 western arc dish. You can use both mpeg 2 (510) and mpeg 4(VIP) receivers. It says you are closest to Austin, Tx.

Thank you for everyone's help. Now can u direct me to a place that i can buy the 1000.2 ? Local or online is fine with me thanks. Superbowl will not be in hd.:( Thanks again greg. I also have an 811 receiver for sale.

I'm confused. Did you do a Dishnitup (upgrade) through Dish? Being an existing Western arc customer (510DVR) did they switch you to Eastern arc? If so, they should not have. They need to come out and fix it....for free. An existing western arc customer who upgrades to Hi-Def gets a 1000.2 covering the 119, 110, and 129. If your HD locals come from an eastern arc satellite (such as the 61.5) then a D500 wing dish with a DP Dual or single LNB is used (or repointed if already there) and connected to the input on the 1000.2 LNB. This allows programing to come from 4 orbial locations. If the locals in your area are not being broadcast in HD, the 1000.2 is all you need. An eastern arc 1000.4 dish receives only MPG4 signals which your 510 cannot process.

The dishstore.org will have a 1000.2 sat dish for sale . They should also have instructions on how to install , zip codes for elevation etc included in the box , and if not , there are Instructional manuals on their website you can download as well.
