I need to buy a 46-55" plasma, lcd or led for my room. I mainly use it for OTA or
FTA from my coolsat & cnx, but also would like to be able to surf youtube or maybe
rent a movie via my dsl connection, either using the tv as a pc monitor or maybe with use a wireless usb adapter.

RE: PC connected to TV

This is very model/brand dependent. Until they were available, DLPs were the best.
The problem is overscan that sometimes can't be corrected even in service menu.

As a general approach: look at brands that entered the TV business from the PC side: Samsung, LG, etc.
Samsung DLPs used to be the best.

I've seen as recently as this year Panasonic plasma models that had overscan with no chance to correct it.
For movies itself this is acceptable. But half the status bar (in Windows) will be gone.

If you use a discrete video card, there is a chance you can create custom resolution, but that is tinkering...

Diogen.
