Why bother with Dish PVRs?

I have found info on the 510 upgrade for existing customers. I believe it's free with a two year commitment or $100 for one year (plus $4.95 monthly fee.) Do they require trade in of the old receiver? Also, are there any deals on 508s anymore, other than the secondary market such as E-bay?

I've got a 721, a 510, and 2 Dishplayers. Two years ago the dishplayers were nightmares as basic functionality wasn't happening, although they have been rock solid for the last year.

The 721 STARTED to have a tuner start flaking out, so I swapped it (I was in the Digital Home Plan-esque Home Service Plan so it was free). Get the extended warranty and you're covered.

Otherwise they are working great. I even got the screen saver back on my 721. I'll be buying the 921 as soon as it ships.....
