Why does Ion provide more programming each day than Fox, CBS, ABC, NBC, The CW, My Network TV? They have programs for most of the day but networks like The CW and My Network TV only have for 2 hours a day. Why is this?

It is all about production costs versus advertising revenue. You play stuff that few who are willing spend their money will watch and you get very little revenue.

You could ask why ion doesn't carry much (if any) local programming and the answer would be the same. Anything local they do carry is because the FCC forces them to offer it. That's one of the reasons that most CW stations usually carry another station's news program in a different time slot.
