If my cooling fan is dying on my HR24 will Directv replace the receiver for this?

Every fee days seems it runs louder and louder. I know the nose because I've had a fee die on my computers in the past.

They should, but you never know. They could claim it's still working. Call and ask, let them know how loud it is and that you are concerned about it being an electrical hazard.

If I were you, I'd just call them and tell them that the receiver is non responsive. I would tell them it wouldn't even power up. Let on like it must be a power supply issue. That should convince them to send a replacement. On the other hand if you are handy and have a lot of recordings you don't want to loose, you could crack it open (even though your not supposed to unless it is "owned") and probably find a replacement fan and install it.

i would just call them and say it won't power up. then they won;t make you do tests and will just replace it. but, you may not get the same model as a replacement.
