Will EHD work on new account

I have already met my 24 month committment to DISH (actually I am in month 30). I called to ask for what they could do to keep me as a customer and the short answer was nothing.

I am contemplating starting a new account with DISH in my wifes name so I can get the deals they are now offering, like free HD and 3 months HBO, etc.

I have a 722 DVR and I have several movies recorded to a external hard drive. Will the new dish 722 receiver play these movies I recorded on the EHD?

Welcome to SatelliteGuys! different account, different "keys" for the dvr, won't work.

Correct the the EHD won't work on a different account. Also you can run into problems trying to get a new system installed at the same location you just closed an account...it will throw up some red flags.
