When I tried the black SS, I liked the look better than the bright SS I ordered. But my favorite look is my Titanium Tissot. I'm hoping to get one of those universal band adapters and try it with the Tissot Titanium band. The Apple Black SS is not really black, but rather dark gray which I think looks even classier. My Sony is all black and the band I have is a Military issue SOC band SS knockoff.

Just got a shipment notification that my 2 extra chargers I ordered will be here on Friday! Woo Hoo! Now I am really ready to charge that watch when it gets here in July!

Mine still processing.
I may see activity tomorrow or next week is my guess.
Mike. I have seen orders in June have been charged and are shipping. My guess is depending what is in stock gets a leg up in the pecking order.

I do hope that my watches will ship sooner than the original order date said. I can understand Apple's strategy of promising late but delivering early.

FYI- Apple reports Monday 27th it's quarterly earnings report. While Apple watch will not influence this report, it is very likely6 that Cook willm mention the sales response on preorders and their shipping status that began on Friday. He has always made mention of new product releases like this in the past. You may wish to go to the Apple web site and access the live report Monday at 5PM ET.

In other news today an analyst has speculated that Apple sold 2 million watches during the preorder period in all categories and predicts that the 2015 total numbers will reach 20 million units representing a $3.7B profit added to their bottom line for 2015. It is based on an average selling price of $440 per unit with most units in the $349 price range with a typical Apple margin of 41%. By 2017, the watch will add $20B of profit to Apples annual cash. While this is interesting prediction it must be noted that Apple analysts are most often wrong, with few on the high side and most wrong on the low side. This prediction is on the high side of some 60 analysts following the company. I tried to find some predictions for the number of added iphone 6 sales as a result of the watch, like my case but couldn't find any analyst that had credible numbers.

With the first version having not even shipped yet, I am wondering what the next version will have... Well really I am wondering if they will have some sort of upgrade program for the watch electronics. I think that it would really boost sales, especially of the higher end ones, if a buyer knew there was a few years of upgrade potential.

Assuming the first version is as successful as everyone expects, my prediction is that the next version of Apple Watch will not be very different from the first one. Just some minor improvements, but no major design changes. This way it will not undermine the sales of the first one.

If this is the case expect the next Watch a few years away.
Updates via firmware to version #1 would almost make another watch with the same case a non seller.

UPDATE: I just got my tracking number from UPS- ETA is tomorrow afternoon. :) The point of origin is Mt. Juliet, TN. I need to be here to sign for it. Apple allows you to pre-sign but I am paranoid of UPS driver theft so I will wait here and sign for it.

Regarding the next version- I suspect there will be no need for added speed. From what I saw the speed in the demo was instant. Most of the processing is done in the phone so if you need faster processing, update the phone, not the watch! The real improvement will probably be a brighter screen and longer battery life. Maybe a thinner case. The present v1 design is such that it is easily customized to make it very personal and unique. Lots of accessories to make the life of v1 longer than the typical phone update of 2 years. I would also like to see a titanium model added. More and more watches are adding titanium to their collection and Apple will need to have that too. Solar will be another feature that will require an update. Will there be a cheap plastic version? I doubt it any more than a cheap plastic Rolex! Apple does not build cheap plastic versions of their products.

So, while it is nice to claim one will wait for the next generation Apple watch, I don't see any of the next generation possibilities making the present one less functional or less desirable. But I do see other designs adding to the collection as opposed to replacing it. Heck, my original T-Touch is still sold by Tissot while the latest version is twice the price and offers double the features. And, after 10 years they now have a solar version too due to popular demand. So rather than having to replace the non rechargeable battery every 5-6 years, the solar has a life time solar power as long as the solar rechargeable lasts. My old Citizen eco drive solar needed a new rechargeable after 8 years so even it was not lifetime.

Because, I suspect there will be few if any flaws in the first version, the best we can hope for is more design choices, just like this whole watch industry presently offers. As such, it will probably be easier to simply sell your old one on ebay or at a pawn shop with other watches and just buy the newer model. In Las Vegas I visited a very high end watch store, huge, at Caesar's Palace Forum Shops. The whole second floor was all "preowned" watches. This will be the market, especially for the SS and Edition models, ebay for the aluminum- That's my prediction. Apple will not get into the module upgrade sales. As an investor, I hope they don't.

I'm not because I switched to Android. As much as I liked Apple, I hated how you have to get an iPhone 6plus just to get OIS.
The watch is cool looking but it's not something I'd need if I had stayed with Apple.

I'm sure there will be plenty of unofficial tests that will come out in the next couple of weeks. I don't know what good a hammer smashing test will mean. The IPX7 rating has been declared and that means it will pass submerged in water 1 meter depth for 30 minutes with no harm to it's function. But the shower with soapy water was pretty rigorous since soapy water is more invasive that pool water. But, I would prefer to use the time in the morning shower and bathroom for a morning charge boost. I do this now with my Sony since I like to sleep with it's alarm features. Why have an alarm watch if I have it away on charge each night? I don't get that about the Apple preferred time to have on recharge.

People who had their watch shipped to Apple Stores for pickup today, were able to go in when the store opened and receive them first thing this morning according news reporters. I saw one post on a blog site claiming they had received the black SS with link band but my guess is it was a fake claim. No one else except for the reviewers are claiming to get the SS models yet and we all seem to be having the May 13-May 27 if ordered right after midnight PT on 4-10.

I updated my wife's iphone 5 with iOS8.3 so it is ready for the pairing when it arrives.

I still don't expect to buy one but I'll be in Vegas next weekend so I'll probably stop in at the Apple store in the Forum Shops to see what is what.

I am somewhat amazed at the number of apps on my phone that have been updated in recent weeks to add support for the Apple Watch.

One revelation is the slim chance of an in-case upgrade. The S1 module has soldered connections and doesn't come out of the case without major collateral damage.
