It's a mental illness. But not one considered to be "imminent" danger to themselves or others.

What about the rats and cockroaches, and bacteria, and assorted viruses? I know those will survive, but those humans living in and near are certainly at risk.

As a firefighter, I went into a house that was on fire like that one time to find the fire to put it out.

I saw the piles of trash, told my partner who was behind me crawling to get the f**k out.

The place burned to the ground, and I wasn't about to get trapped in all their trash.

Probably best for all concerned that it burned to the ground...! (Kinda takes care of several problems with one match, so to speak...)
