Wireless Question

Anyone that can help that would be great Im bayond frustration.

Just bought a TIVO Series 2 and have no phone line. I cannot figure out what will work with my wireless network. Its a Lynksys set up currently set on G, but I can change it to B if need be.

How do you want the TiVo connected to the network?

Do you have WEP security enabled?

Yes WEP is Enabled.

So what wireless adapter is connected to the TiVo?

Is it on the TiVo "approved list" and did you set the WEP key?

No, my question was which one Could I use that list is a little decieving.

Can i use something other then a Linksys?

Yes, they are set to a standard, as long as you setup the WEP key in the adapter you will be fine. Make sure your TiVo, router, and adapters have their latest stable software. My roomate uses his linksys wirless adapters in my D-Link network.

Inside a typical network, YES, as far as perfect compatibility with TiVo you can only test it out if its not on that pre-tested list, but there should be no reason why it shouldn't.

Im in the process of setting it up now, I have not gotten my adapter yet so I have thie rigged up set up using my old voip line I never disconnect, and running it through my fax machine, so far IVe gotten the channels set up, but it is spotty at best because of the disconnects..Grrr, this is frustrating. I cant leave yet until the wife gets home, or drag the kids to get one, and that is not happening.:devil:
