Yes... things may look strange at the moment, but we have upgraded to Xenforo 2.1. We are still working on setting everything up. And while things may look strange, be assured that we will be working to return the looks you are use to at a later time.

It goes by zip code then does a scan after entering the secondary zip code. Only channels in the two zip codes you enter will get guide data. Any channels in DMAs beyond those two will just show a generic message "regular programming" or something like that (can't remember).
100% correct.

The HR21-23 hardware (and possibly the HR24) lacks the hardware to do PIP and it is not practical to do PIP in software.
Wireless access to tuner
Could you be more specific?
intranet access without added equipment for laptop access to dvr
More specificity is necessary here too.
gigabit network system
This is a hardware limitation and given the bandwidth needs, almost certainly overkill. The existing setup works just fine with Gigabit switches and existing DECA hardware.

Hmm... I'll have to check into it as I never saw it scan.

Wireless access to tuner is the ability to take my tuner outside and use it without cable connectivity. I see this advertised on u-verse all the time. The most important of all this is the ability of the dvr tuner to react when the remote is pushed. It is a deal killer with me..This is just terrible. I have to wait for the dvr to take the command.. I have been with directv a long time and I'm tired of their response time. When I push channel 244 I don't want 2 or 4 or 24...Come on this is just terrible....I'm waiting for the hopper to level out then I'm out of here...It's not worth the hassle anymore....Come on get it together........

Directv is not uverse. If they are the best they need to get the basics done first...How long does it take to make a remote work? If they cann't do wireless tuners then they don't belong in business. My 25 year old tv works better then directv's dvr remote. Don't tell me they cann't do pip either. Come on...step up and do something better then the others...HR22...ps nice win over cincinnati....

Wjhat does any of this have to do with "Wireless Tuners" and I don't know what the issue is, D* doesn't offer a Wireless tuner, probably due to LAG that your referring to.

As mentioned previously, the Uverse one doesn't work very well, why would someone else (D*) be wantin g to do the same thing and not have it work well, they have enough issues already, now you want to add Wireless to them, ?

The reason there is no PIP is it's no longer POPULAR, in case you haven't noticed, none of the TV's in the last few generations have had them either.

Au contraire mon-faire. My shiny new Samsung D8000 is packin' PIP. Same goes for a 2.5 year old Sammy D7100. Now, they both have to have secondary connections on them. Meaning if I only have OTA as an option, then I'm sort of out of luck, since they only have 1 on board tuner. But, wire up a STB and some coax and wammo-blammo, PIP.

I can do that too on my set, but I never use it and I DO have OTA set up.

Still, PIP went away when the TV makers decided it wasn't that important.

I would guess that 80% don't have Pip anymore.

PIP was cool back in the day before DVRs. That way you could watch something else while keeping an eye on the commercials. We never used on the Dish receivers, and never use it on the HR34 either.

I actually have been using PIP on my HR34 for NHL games. Hell of a playoff race going on and nice to keep an eye on more than one game. I'm sure I'll use it for college football as well.
