World News with Charles Gibson on ABC

I am told that ABC's World News might go HD later this or next year...

I'd think sooner rather than later. NBC has already announced that its Nightly News will go HD sometime this month.

I am guessing this is more complicated a task for networks than it might appear; while the studio cameras are probably easy enough to switch over, they need to put HD cameras in the hands of all of the videographers in the field.

But I am glad the switch is finally occurring.

Am I missing something? I thought all ABC news are in HD already?

ABC national news is not in HD, just local news in many areas.
