We had a recent thread on the Worst Sports Franchises of recent years.

Now,

I'd like to find out what were some of the worst single-season teams you can recall.

As a hockey fan, I have to go with the 1992-93 San Jose Sharks: 71 losses!

I'll only pick on a couple of teams I like to follow:

Raiders
1962 1 - 13
2003 4 - 12 (1yr removed from the SB, even though I saw it coming)
2006 2 - 14

Heat
2008 15 - 67 (.183)

The 1997-98 Denver Nuggets finished with a record of 11-71, just 2 games shy of the worst alltime record in the NBA. I was at their 10th win and the crowd went crazy.

I think they also tied the record for the longest losing streak at 23 games or something like that.

2007-2008 Miami Dolphins ugly as hell 1-15 season....and I was visiting family for about 2 months in Tampa for that dreaded 0-14 season....I mean the Dolphins were very close on a few occassions....but the Bucs....they were litterally outclassed in EVERY GAME!

1972 Phillies were really bad. If it wasn't for Steve Carlton they easily would have lost more than 120 games.
IIRC one season in the 70's the 76er's had a season in which they won only 9 games.

Didn't Carlton win 27 games and get the Cy Young award that year? Pretty impressive performance considering the state of the team that year.

I can't "recall" this but it is in the record books: 1899 Cleveland Spiders (MLB) lost 134 games, won 20.
