Worth upgrading from HR24 to Genie?

Currently have a HR24 in the living room and a H24 in my bedroom. I've been pretty happy with the HR24 and only once in a blue moon do I run into recording conflicts. Is it worth trying to upgrade to Genie? Would D* have my pay to upgrade the Genie and also replace the box in my bedroom?

I think it is worth it for sure, but i record a lot of stuff

right now recording 5 things at once for another hour +
5 things on Friday from 7-10 Central
can record 5 college games
....what do you think?

Call retention and see what they can do for ya. Be nice and ya never know

Keep the HR 24 & upgrade on the H24. If you have Whole Home you can still share between the HD DVRs. The only thing you might be concerned over is the fan & hard drive do make some noise which might bother you at night.

agreed. Since its still $6 extra regardless if a receiver or a DVR you might as well keep the DVR

your setup is what i used to have.
as soon as my contract ran out i contacted directv and replaced the h24.
i had the hr24 moved tot he bedroom and the genie put in the living room
total cost - $50
if your under contract you may not get a deal
