Well I read in the description that other uses include aligning a satellite antenna. It takes some knowledge of microwaves some experience to use that tool effectively.
 
I hauled one of those beasts around for many years. If you want something to monitor signals inside, I might consider it. Out at the dish? I would pass. Spent many an hour peering into the sunshade tweaking a dish. New meters make tuning so much easier with the BER measurements.

Version "a" would make it quite old, so make sure the CRT is still visible. No doubt it will need a battery as they only lasted a few years and very short run times. Maybe upgrade or build a new type of battery for longer life and run time.
 
Thanks for the info. Was mainly just asking as a service, in case anyone else might have been interested. I'm thinking about just buying a common DVB-S capable meter like one of the SatLink ones. It just seemed like a too good to be true deal for an oscilloscope.
