I just got an email from WTHR that their HD signal should be on Dish by the end of the month. Since I have only been waiting since May of 2006 what is a couple more weeks!?

The stock email that WTHR was sending out a few months ago when the rest of the Indy locals were added said that the WTHR-Dish contract would be renegotiated in August, and they were confident that a deal would be reached to carry WTHR-HD. So I guess it's coming true. So now we'll have all 5 - only PBS to go... :)

can you share you email?

Ben:

[FONT=&quot]We are close to finalizing a new deal with DISH that will include our HD signal. Should be done by the end of this month. Thanks again and thanks for watching WTHR![/FONT]

Yes, great news for us in Muncie. Did you notice that the locals were off and on a couple of times this morning? Maybe Dish has uplinked the channel.

has anybody noticed how crappy Fox59's signal strength has gotten since the DTV switch? I can get the other three majors with 85-90% signal strength but fox hovers around 70-60% and drops out a lot. even the sat feed does it also.

If this actually gets turned on, I will be extremely happy. This is the one channel I've been waiting to go HD for the last few months. Being able to watch every football game in HD would be great.

Yes, have noticed that. I think that may be caused by where the signal is coming from if you get them OTA. I think WTTV (Channel 4) or vice versa bought them and the transmitting tower might have changed.

NO. 4 and 59 have seperate towers. 4's being in Trafalger. Right now, 59's analog head is being removed from the tower and will be replaced with a higher powered WTTK (Ch4 mirror). BUT, 59 has been as steady as always for me.

From Wikipedia: "WXIN and WTTV/WTTK became sister stations in 2002, following the sale of WTTV/WTTK from [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_Broadcast_Group"]Sinclair Broadcast Group - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Sinclair.PNG" class="image"><img alt="Sinclair.PNG" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e9/Sinclair.PNG"@@AMEPARAM@@en/e/e9/Sinclair.PNG[/ame] to Tribune. However, Tribune did not switch affiliations between the two because even though WXIN is on the UHF dial, it has been one of Fox's strongest affiliates, and as WTTV has a [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_license"]City of license - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Crystal_Clear_app_kedit.svg" class="image"><img alt="Crystal Clear app kedit.svg" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e8/Crystal_Clear_app_kedit.svg/40px-Crystal_Clear_app_kedit.svg.png"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/e/e8/Crystal_Clear_app_kedit.svg/40px-Crystal_Clear_app_kedit.svg.png[/ame] of Bloomington, does not cover the full Indianapolis market without its Kokomo satellite station (WTTK)."

What might an HD Tuesday bring? All it is are the leftovers from retransmission consent agreements where it took a few weeks to roll out all the affected stations.

Also, to the guy asking, WTHR is not a Freedom station but is owned by Dispatch Broadcast Group, which also owns WBNS Columbus, OH.
