Okay, I've searched and can't find out if this setup will work for my tailgating setup. All I'm interested in is getting the Sunday ticket games at my tailgate spot, which I understand come from the 99 satellite. At my house, I have the 3LNB SWM Slimline dish with a power inserter and an H25 receiver, but I don't want to take the dish off my house to tailgate, and I don't want to pony up for another Slimline dish or a non-SWM receiver.
What I have is an older 18" round dish with a single LNB (2 coax outlets coming from the nipple) and a newer H25 receiver to use. Can I buy a Zinwell 6X8 multi-switch MS6X8WB-Z (cheap ones on e-bay) and just aim my dish at the 99 satellite to get the games on Sunday ticket? Which input(s) do I need to use on the switch? A single cable to one of the inputs or 2 cables going to 2 of the inputs? My concern is that I think this is a passive multiswitch, whereas the SWM built into my dish at home requires a power inserter. Thanks in advance for your help.
