So I hooked up a second DSR410 (now my LNBf problem is sorted!) and left it over the weekend on 204.

I checked it this morning and on the menu pages it has a different logo to my other one, it says "WSNet". I haven't requested auth for this unit yet!

Its got a different channel map that includes ESPN! - sadly I have no sub :(

I have DMX in the 900s - ITC

PPV in the 890s (P0rn) and 800s (Movies) - NoSub
700s non-PPV movies - NoSub
500s non-PPV movies - NoSub

VH1 soul is Ch357 - NoSub
General stuff in 200s and 300s

It does not have a guide.

The EMM provider is 4160 on this unit, the other "SRL" unit is 4160 also!

Best bit?! I can't get a lock on 204!!!

WSNet was a programming service similar to HITS. They used to be on Telstar 6. They went bankrupt a few years ago. Perhaps some of the DSR410's being sold by Skyvision were formerly WSNet units.

Since WSNet is no longer broadcasting, what you are seeing in your receiver must have been there originally.

I haven't had any trouble with the guide but I have a different problem. Approximately 12-24 hours after doing a factory reset I will lose some of my subscribed channels from the guide. They don't appear in the guide at all and they cannot be tuned manually. I had skyvision send me a replacement unit after several factory resets(options 67786) and the replacement unit does the same thing. All of the subscribed channels will appear in the guide initially, but within a day they are gone. In fact, it loses the exact same channels(nicktoons, tvland, vh1classic, blackbelt, and vs.). I tried several things to troubleshoot - replaced coax, swapped lnbs, etc. Has anyone had this same problem with losing channels?

Did you ask for a re-hit on your guide before replacing receiver?
The guide may have had a hiccup in the refreshing process, and
therefore lost some channels, which could be quickly remedied
at the programming center. It is doubtful that two receivers would
have the same problem as described, and it points to something in
the datastream addressing your specific receiver not being totally
correct.

I rehit the units several times. The Programming Center has a customer portal that allows you to do this from their website. Skyvision has now acknowledged that there is a software issue and they are working with The Programming cCnter for a fix.

I had a guide when it said wsnet, but that made my sub go away. After a rehit and a couple of hours I got my sub channels back but had no guide. That was last sunday all was good for the week, now it is sunday again and all channels say sub needed and still no guide.I really hoped this service would work well as a inexpensive alternative to the pizza dish guys, but it looks like there is going to be alot of growing pains.I noticed the people at the programming center are not the happiest campers in the world so I think they are getting alot of calls for this problem.

Hey guys...I just subbed my "WSNet" unit via Programming Center - it still says "WSNet" abd although "Guide" shows me a list of channels, there is no program info.

I always like to see "Paid Programming" in the guide...makes you feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that you're paying to get programming that someone else paid to get aired.

Wouldn't it be great to be a channel owner.......Like you said, you have people paying YOU to put their silly commercials up all evening while the subscriber pays YOU to watch the silly commercials.

Ahhhh.....capitalism

Just like now with the pizza pan services in addition to all the channel provided commercials they even have their own commericials and advertisements. That is one of the reasons I don't sub to any cable channels except HBO, Max, Starz on G15

I just subscribed to 2 Digital channels from X4 Hits , BBC America and Sci-FI .
2 channels for 3months for about $30
I'm using a DSR-905 Digital Sidecar and the service provider I used is Programming-Center.

I read on their site that to get re-hit you must be on channel X4-440 , now the customer rep that I spoke to said I couldn't get a guide without going to G1.

Anyone have any suggestions , I'm thinking I could introduce myself to a fellow C-bander until I get my Big Dish operational and get a hit off his BUD.

905, 920 and 922 need C-band for the guide, not really worth pulling it out for the guide, think it only loads a day at a time, best is to have C-band up and running at your place.

The 410 has a guide on G-16 (X4)

The DSR 905 will only get guide info off G1-3. My 922 updates nightly and only lasts about a day and a half. So unless you have continious access to C band 's G1-3 it wouldn't be worth the time to bring it to someones house with a bud and have the guide update for a day or so.

I don't know if the 905 would even "remember" the guide after being unplugged from the C-Band system and brought home. My model 920 receiver loses all of the guide info as soon as it is removed from the power source, and I have to tune it back to G1 to refresh it again. I don't know if the guide info is backed up by the on-board battery...

Ya, my 922 looses the guide info when the power is lost too. I guess he would have to keep it powered up with a UPS on the ride home to keep it's data.:D

I use a UPS on my 922 because whenever the power glitched the thing would want to reboot and loose the guide. It can be a pain during the storm season without it.
