HD DVD #1 and #2 selling DVD players at Amazon

So what? They're the only manufacturer of their format.

Toshiba led the Amazon rankings the entire holiday season too. The HD DVD boosters crowed that as proof that HD DVD dominated standalone sales. Then Toshiba's own slides proved that back in reality Blu-ray, with their broad CE support, actually sold more standalone players.

None of this will matter 6 mo's from now when Paramount and Universal are at least neutral. I wouldn't even get worked up about it.

I'm more annoyed by vurbano starting a dozen threads a day than anything else.

Hehe. Hes trying a last ditch effort(like Toshiba) to save the dead. The paddles are almost at full power and the heart is still not beating!

Latest word is that it will not even take that long :)

As far as the HD-DVD players being dumped...why would Toshiba cut the price of these players after the Warner announcement??

"Because they know all they sold ya was a low priced piece of sh$t. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and put a low price on it, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from the Blu-Ray camp."

time to dump the trash and screw people over that don't know the war is over, sux 2 be the people that are buying an HD-DVD player, and they will come to realize why there are more BD movies, players, and advertisement than Toshiba in few months in their local retailers.
It be funny to see customers go into BB and try to buy an HD-DVD movie and then the retailer telling them, wtf is that? HD-DVD is discontinued, please visit the clearance rack in the back side of the store.

I wonder what the % of people buying the HD-DVD players are just using them to upconvert their DVDs. Yeah they get the free HD-DVDs when they buy the unit, but I wonder if they are really using it for HD-DVD.

Its amazing how little good sportsmenship there is in this warzone.

Its like you guys are just thrilled that lots of people are getting screwed out of a lot of money due to a lot of politics over a format war.

I've decided to wear my colors on my sleeve (or avatar) - and will continue to enjoy my HD DVD player. :)

I think its funny if someone dumps their money on a dead format at this point. Sure, its a great upconverter, but in the HDM realm, its on life support.

Prime example of "you get what you pay for"

I totally agree with rocky's stance... I was going to buy a PS3... but after seeing the glee and piss poor sportsmanship which the BD folk's here and at other forums are showing... I personally would rather watch those movies on SLP - VHS or broadcast TV than BD... nothing against the format, it's the people that are supporting it... and degrading the other STILL alive format...thats just the way I was raised...

Now this is funny.

People have been pissing on BD for a looooooooooooong time here and other forums, now the shoe is on the other foot, people cant hack it. Comments like going back to VHS are borderline idiotic.

My favorite team did not make it to the playoffs because of a bad call! Im going to stomp my feet and start watching competition knitting :river

You enjoy that VHS tape, Ill enjoy my HD movies :haha

HFS Elway the BD trolls are worse than the Dish Trolls when Direct had HDLite... any pro HD DVD post gets pissed on... My opinion not SatelliteGuys...

I am not arguing the fact that the trolls are there, but come one, both sides have em.

Most pro hddvd posts get pissed on NOW, was not the case 30 days ago.

Im not going to let trolls or anyone else stop me from enjoying the movies, sorry. I just cant fathom not enjoying hd movies because of fanboy comments.

If Fox and WB woulda went HDDVD, I woulda been here with my red hat and bells on, but they didnt. For once I see a light at the end of the tunnel so I hope BD drives it home so we can see HDM gain momentum.
